Action Point was founded in 2005 by close friends and technology enthusiasts, David Jeffreys and John Savage. Frustrated with the standard of technology services they experienced themselves they set out to build an IT team who could deliver a truly exceptional service. Back then they had the foresight to see technology as a business enabler - when done right of course.

Their promise was simple; ensure clients had the IT infrastructure, systems and support they really needed to support their business. David and John now steer one of Ireland’s fastest growing technology companies. They have built a talented team of business and technology experts, who share their vision and understand the potential that properly applied technology can bring to business.

David Jeffreys
David Jeffreys
Managing Director

David is the founder and Managing Director of Action Point and is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the company. David has more than 15 years’ experience in the IT industry and has a passion for good service. Under his leadership Action Point has achieved significant year on year growth, has expanded overseas, and has adopted a customer focused marketing strategy.

David is a Director of the Limerick Chamber of Commerce, where he chairs the Competitiveness Panel and passionately champions the commercial and cultural growth of the Mid-West region of Ireland.

After graduating from the University of Limerick in 2001 with a degree in Computer Systems, David began his professional career working alongside university friend John Savage at US company; DataMate Global. Here David worked on the development of software products aimed at the Hollywood Entertainment industry. In 2005, David's entrepreneurial spirit took hold and together with John he founded Action Point.

David’s goal is to build Action Point into the largest technology services business in Ireland, through continued international expansion by building an industry leading team of both technical and business people.

John Savage

Technical Director

John is the CTO at Action Point and has been working in the software industry for over 15 years. He has deep technical expertise on software architecture, development and management and is the driving force behind Action Point's team of talented developers.

John graduated from the University of Limerick in 2001 with a First Class Honours BSc in Computer Systems. He is one of only 3 people in the University's history to graduate with a perfect score of 4.0. After graduation, he spent several years working in the US and climbed the ranks to Lead Software Engineer with DataMate Global. Retuning to Ireland in 2005 and along with college friend David Jeffreys, they established Action Point.

A visionary strategist and technologist, John's core competencies focus on helping companies transform their processes and systems via a deep dive of their business goals and strategy. This approach allows him to guide his team to devise a software solution that 'goes beyond the code' to provide measurable business value.

Jonathan Deane
Jonathan Deane
IT Services Director

Jonathan is the technical lead at Action point Technology and has been working in the technology industry for over 15 years. He has wide range of technical expertise in the IT infrastructure stack and a passion for doing right by the customer. He has helped clients grow their technology base from 10s to 1000s of staff.

Jonathan joined Action Point in 2006 from the SWS Group where he was lead network & systems engineer. He has stayed at the cutting edge of technology by keeping on top of certifications from industry leading vendors such as Cisco, Microsoft, VMWare & Dell.

An acute trouble-shooter Jonathan keeps companies infrastructure running at the highest levels of performance and reliability by constantly mentoring the technical team.

Karl Dowling

Sales Director

Karl Dowling is Director of Sales at Action Point and is responsible for driving sales across Ireland and Europe. Karl manages all aspects of the sales process, including strategy, tactics, sales plans and revenue targets, and plays a key role in the development of Action Point's international expansion strategy.

With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Karl has over 10 years' experience working in the Technology industry. Karl joined Action Point in 2009 as a Senior Sales Executive and was quickly promoted to Sales Manager. In 2011 he was appointed Director of Sales.

Karl is committed to finding the most appropriate technology solutions for Action Point clients, guiding and advising his sales team on how best to address each client's needs and priorities. He possesses a unique ability to manage both the day to day operations as well as the strategic vision of the company, ensuring customer focused sales strategies are established, driven and executed.

Ger O'Mahoney
Ger O'Mahony
Commercial Director

Ger is the Commercial Director at Action Point and has more than 20 years’ experience in the IT industry. Ger has been involved in a number of successful technology start-ups, including being the founder of the software business Engage Technologies Group which was subsequently sold to NorthgateArinso (a FTSE 250 company) as well as the co-founder of the networking systems integrator Bridgecom Group which was sold to Denis O’Brien’s Esat Telecom. He has completed funding rounds and also identified, successfully completed and integrated company acquisitions as well as company disposals during this period. In recent years Ger has focused on helping established technology companies to scale and grow both in Irish and International markets.

After graduating from University College Cork with a Commerce degree, Ger trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in Ireland and subsequently worked overseas for two and a half years with their international associates KPMG Peat Marwick in the West Indies.

Ger is focused on helping Action Point to build and execute a business strategy that will enable the company to not only strengthen its presence in international markets but also enable it to develop into the largest technology services business in Ireland.

Donal Collins
Head of Finance

Donal Collins is the Head of Finance at Action Point and is responsible for the overall financial management, business analysis and reporting.

A graduate of UCD (Bachelor of Business and Legal Studies) followed by a Master’s in Business Studies (Entrepreneurialism) from UCC. Donal then went on to train with Chartered Accountants Ireland and passed his Final Admitting Exams in 2004. On 1st Jan.2016 having achieved the important milestone of ten years membership of the Institute he became a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland receiving the prestigious designation FCA.

Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant Donal has worked with numerous SME’s and Multinational organisations as a contractor/consultant. Each and every contract was extended or an offer to extend which shows the value add and professionalism Donal brings to a role.

Donal joined Action Point in July 2013 as Contract Financial Controller and Systems Manager and enjoying the culture and ambition of Action Point took up a permanent role as Head of Finance in July 2014.

Michelle Leo

Head of IT Services

Michelle is the Head of IT Services in Action Point and is responsible for overseeing the Managed Services desk and the Support desk for both SME and Enterprise clients. Michelle is also responsible for overseeing the Project Implementation team. Michelle has over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry and thrives on delivering a good service.

Michelle joined Action Point in 2012 as a member of the Support team and was quickly promoted to Service Delivery Manager overseeing the Managed Services and Support team. Michelle was recently promoted to Head of IT Services taking on the additional responsibility of the Project Implementation team.

Michelle is customer focused and committed to find better ways to maintain customer site’s to prevent downtime, to find reoccurring issue and applying a permanent fix and delivering projects on time with the least amount of disturbance to the customer.

Gary Staunton

Head of Software Services

Gary Staunton is the Head of Software Services at Action Point Innovation responsible for managing and delivering all of Action Point Innovation software development projects. As operational leader of the software development team, key responsibilities are to liaise with clients and to ensure a high quality end product is delivered to our clients.

A graduate of the University of Limerick, Gary holds a BSc in Applied Mathematics and Computing and subsequently worked in Australia for two years as a Software Consultant. Upon returning to Ireland Gary worked in different verticals gaining further development experience before moving into the position of Engineering Manager in Dell Computers. Within Dell Computers, Gary moved on to become a highly accomplished Project Manager with significant experience gained across a range of roles in Engineering and New Client Solutions.

Gary joined Action Point in 2014 as Project Manager. With previous management experience, a passion for creating outstanding user experiences, a desire to allow developers creative freedom and with the motivation to work in a fast-paced start-up environment, Gary was promoted to Head of Software Services in 2015.

Miriam O'Brien
Miriam O’Brien
Marketing Manager

Miriam is Action Point's Marketing Manager. She drives the development and implementation of Action Point's marketing strategy for the company's IT and Software business lines, both nationally and internationally.

A graduate of the University of Limerick, Miriam holds a first class honours MSc in Marketing, Consumption & Society and a BA in New Media and English. She also holds a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing. Miriam began her career as a Digital Marketing Executive for a leading European software testing conference.

She joined Action Point in 2012 as a Marketing Executive to progress Action Point's marketing activities. She quickly identified the need for separate strategies for the IT and Software business lines, recruiting the support of an external agency. During this time Miriam was promoted to Marketing Manager and became a member of the Action Point Management team.

Miriam is passionate about creating great customer experiences through marketing. She works closely with the management team to ensure Action Point is communicating in the best way possible to its clients, and is proud to have an input into the growth trajectory of Action Point.
