On March 4th 2015, we joined a host of other finalists for the annual SFA Awards in the RDS Concert Hall. ActionPoint were nominated in the Services Category, for our custom Software Development services. If you’re new to these parts then you best check out our brand new Software Development website. There you will find out how we’ve partnered with clients to help them to:

  • Re-develop existing legacy applications
  • Bring a new product or application to market
  • Automate an existing process
  • Improve customer experience using innovative software
  • Develop a new smartphone or web application
  • Help embed Internet intelligence into devices and join the Internet of Things

Cheeky segway over; back to the topic at hand. While we didn’t win the overall Services Category we did not go home empty handed. We were one of the few on the night who were awarded the ‘Highly Commended’ award. We’re really proud to be recognised for our commitment to the development of software systems that are innately tied with our clients’ business goals. As we like to say ‘we’re techies, but we’re business people too.’ We’ll never look at the technical in isolation. All engagement and communication is at the business level, exploring business requirements, goals and outcomes.

This is the eleventh year of the SFA National Small Business Awards, which are organised by the Small Firms Association. A list of all finalists appeared in the Irish Independent. Speaking at the event, SFA Chairman, AJ Noonan said “You are the engines of future growth in this economy. You have proven your commitment, drive and ambition and we are delighted to celebrate your achievements. All of the finalists have brought with them this evening their hard-working teams. Together you employ more than 650 people and tonight is an opportunity to acknowledge your contribution.”

It was a great night of celebration, and it was a fantastic feeling to bring another award back to the team the following day. In the last 12 months we added two new awards to our shelf; in September we won the Dell Irish Partner of the year award and in November we were recognised as the 26th fastest growing technology company in Ireland at the Deloitte Fast 50 Awards. 2015 is also a special year for us – it’s our tenth year in business! And you know what that means – a celebration is on the cards. But more on that later…
