Limerick, 31/07/2019 – Limerick based Tech firm ActionPoint have today launched an exciting new initiative in their bid to help customers excel with technology; the ActionPoint Academy. Based at their Limerick HQ on the University of Limerick Campus, the aim of the Academy is to provide inclusive, immersive and practical training to support both individuals and industry achieve their greatest potential using the power of technology.

Speaking about the launch, ActionPoint CEO David Jeffreys said that “the new ActionPoint Academy is tailor made for businesses of all shapes and sizes. Our objective is to enable our learners to better utilise the day-to-day software tools which shape our world.

As an established end-to-end technology partner, we are keenly invested in our customer’s successful use of technology. We listened closely to our customers and we have responded to the needs we identified, such as for greater understanding and support in areas like Microsoft 365, Office 365 and Azure. The purpose built ActionPoint Academy is firstly designed with the learner in mind and will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including the latest technology and a comfortable and accessible learning environment. Centrally placed in the UL campus, and with free secured parking on site and full catering and refreshments provided, learners will be given access to a distraction free learning experience.”

The ActionPoint Academy will be unveiling a series of training programs over the coming months, with courses to suit a wide variety of needs and levels, there is something for everyone. The first training session will kick off on August 16th as part of the Modern Workplace Productivity Series. There are three courses in this series:

  • Modern Productive Worker – Introduction to all that Office365 has to offer.
  • Collaborative Teams – A deep dive into Microsoft Teams.
  • Intelligent Organisation – PowerBI and Data Analytics and Visualisation.

Each of these courses offers practical, real-world training to help organisations turn knowledge into know-how, transforming your workplace in the process!

Jessica McIlwaine, Technology Adoption Lead, ActionPoint

ActionPoint’s Technology Adoption Lead, Jessica McIlwaine will create many of the Academy’s programs and will drive the strategic direction of the new facility. Having worked in the Business Applications industry for the past decade, and herself Microsoft Certified, Jessica has spent much of her career implementing software and directing user adoption and change. “Tools and technology are only one part of the digital transformation equation, knowledge and know-how are key to empowering smarter, more effective organisations. Working with our partners Microsoft and MicroWarehouse, we want to build a centre focused on developing the individual’s knowledge and skills so that organisations can reap the rewards of a smarter, better equipped workforce.”
